Monitored Alarms

A monitored alarm system is your ultimate line of defence, providing 24/7 protection that goes far beyond a standard “bells-only” alarm. While a traditional alarm relies on sound to scare off an intruder and alert neighbours, a professionally monitored alarm from 1-Secure is connected to our Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC). When your alarm is triggered, our highly trained security professionals are instantly alerted. We then take immediate action, following a pre-agreed plan to contact keyholders, verify the threat, and if necessary, request an emergency police response. This ensures a swift reaction even when you’re away, asleep, or unable to respond yourself.

  • Lower maintenance costs
  • Peace of mind with 24/7 monitoring

There are different types of responses from the monitoring station based on the chosen monitoring plan:

Keyholder Response – You will have designated keyholders from friends, family or neighbours. On alarm activation monitoring station notifies keyholders so that they can attend to your house or premises.

Police Response – With this option Police are immediately informed once it is established that the alarm is genuine. Keyholders may also be notified.

Private Security Response – Depending on your area, there may be an option to choose the plan for private security response. We are working hard to offer this option in all the areas we serve.

There are routine weekly checks performed on the health of the systems, and any anomalies are picked up very quickly and rectified based on the service plan chosen by you.

How does a monitored alarm system work?
When your intruder alarm is triggered, a signal is sent via a secure communicator to our 24/7 Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC). Our trained operators then follow your specific action plan, which typically involves contacting keyholders and, for confirmed incidents, requesting a police response.
What is the difference between a bells-only and a monitored alarm?
A bells-only alarm simply sounds a siren on your property. A monitored alarm ensures that the alert is received by a professional team who can initiate a response, even if no one is nearby to hear the siren. This provides a much higher level of security.
What is an ARC (Alarm Receiving Centre)?
An ARC is a highly secure, professionally staffed monitoring centre that operates 24/7 to receive signals from intruder, fire, and personal attack alarms. Our ARC is NSI Gold certified, the highest industry standard.
What is visual verification?
Visual verification uses integrated CCTV to send a short video clip to the ARC when the alarm is triggered. This allows operators to confirm a genuine break-in before requesting police dispatch, which is now often a requirement for a priority police response and drastically reduces false alarms.
